Mar Girgis l Ahbash – Rupestrian Monastery

A rupestrian monastery linked to the presence of Ethiopian monks in the Qadisha Valley, in 1488 A.D.. The site is located in a cliff and is characterized by a vernacular built heritage; the chapel is partially carved in the rocks where the GERSL uncovered some geometrical style frescoes painted all-over the apse (Liban Souterrain 4 & 5).
